SUPPORTIVE SERVICES  FOR VETERAN FAMILIES

SERVING THOSE WHO SERVED

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF) helps veteran families obtain stable housing, whether they are currently homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless.

​

Those who are homeless, first receive assistance to find suitable housing. Then, Case Managers work with the family to provide needed temporary financial assistance, linkage with community resources and US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, and a plan to improve housing stability.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Served

Served in active military, naval, air service, Merchant Marines or was activated by Presidential order and served in another state or country while in the National Guard or Reserves

Income

Gross Annual Household Income less than 50% of area median income forhousehold size

Homeless

Literally Homeless (meaning living in a place not meant for human habitation, an emergency shelter, transitional housing, or hospital or other institution when prior to admission was in emergency shelter or a place not fit for human habitation) OR permanently housed but imminently at-risk of literal homelessness

No Other Resources or Social Supports

ADDITIONAL IN-HOUSE SERVICES

Veteran Emergency Pantry

For Veterans in need of additional support with basic necessities. Applicants can receive a 3-day emergency supply of non-perishable food items, hygiene products and household goods for each verified household member. Limited to one (1) disbursement every 30 days and subject to availability of items.
